Ganesha Chaturthi.
Today, the 31st of August is Ganesha Chaturthi, the beginning of a set of festivities which celebrate the birth of Ganesha.
Ganesh is one of the best known and recognisable of the Indic deities due to his widespread veneration and his appearance, the body of a yourh with the head of an elephant.
Multiple stories relate him, but one of the earliest mentions of him in the Rig Veda summises his characteristics which states that “nothing nearby or afar is achieved without you”.
This is central to the nature of Ganesh, supporter, remover of obstacles and assisting with sucess.
These are all qualities that we value and often require to be present in our lives and making this connection with Ganesh allows this.
May obstacles be overcome and success arise for you!
Om Gan Ganpatye Namo Namah!
